Choose the perfect setting for you from ten different rooms and three outdoor gardens. Take a tour of our establishment and discover the diverse atmospheres and characters of our spaces.
Our building was extensively renovated in 2014 and combines historical structure with contemporary architecture and amenities. Eight out of ten rooms are barrier-free. Modern multimedia technologies are available for celebrations and events.
Experience interesting art on our walls: such as the paintings by Karl Reisenbichler in the Bürgersaal, pictures by Louis Hofbauer in the Braumeisterstube, or photographs by photo pioneer Dr. Karl Kaser on the first floor.
With around 1,300 seats indoors and outdoors, Sternbräu is one of the largest catering establishments of its kind in Austria. And yet, it is full of individual niches that provide a great deal of coziness. Our regular guests have already found their favorite "little spot" here. Make yourself at home with us too!
On the Ground Floor
Bürgersaal
MYSTICAL & MAJESTIC. Dining here feels a bit like sitting at a knight's table. The room, decorated in brown and red tones, is over 100 years old and one of the oldest rooms in Sternbräu. Since 2014, it has shone in new splendor and is one of our most popular dining rooms.
The legendary Bürgersaal would be nothing without the mystical, dark-looking paintings by the Austrian painter Karl Reisenbichler. Created around 1924, Reisenbichler's pictures show Salzburg motifs from the period between 1500 and 1600 and create a special, almost mysterious atmosphere in Sternbräu.
The interior focuses entirely on the comfort radiated by the striking wooden ceiling. Locals, families, and tourists particularly enjoy eating here.

Festungssaal
MODERN & MULTIFUNCTIONAL. The counterpoint to the Bürgersaal is the Festungssaal, our modern all-rounder: spacious, flexible, and perfect for larger meetings, workshops, training sessions, club meetings, and assemblies.
The Festungssaal is equipped with modern event technology and features a stage. Exclusive group dinners and celebrations also find the right setting here. If required, the room can be expanded to include the Turmstube, offering up to 74 seats.

Arkadengarten
AIRY & RELAXED. Oh my! Sternbräu connoisseurs appreciate it, newcomers quickly learn to love it: our courtyard, probably the prototype of a Salzburg outdoor dining area. Surrounded by historical arcades, it is the largest of our three gardens and one of the most beautiful spots in the middle of Salzburg's Old Town. Old chestnut trees provide shade and are spectacularly illuminated in the evening. A breath of fresh air!
In the summer months, it's bustling here. Nevertheless, the atmosphere remains relaxed – because it's just so cozy. The arcades are heated outside the warm months and can therefore also be used in the colder season. A direct staircase leads from the Arkadengarten to the "Kids Corner" for our little guests.
During the Advent season, the Arkadengarten transforms every year into an atmospheric Christmas world. Even though the SternAdvent now mainly takes place in the Stern Beer Garden, the Arkadengarten is elaborately decorated. For Christmas parties and company get-togethers, there is also a separate area with a punch hut.
